C. Alen Minard, age 61, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Alen was born November 22, 1955 in Joplin, son of the late Clarence Minard and Eveline Webber Minard. He was a lifelong resident of the Joplin area, and graduated from Webb City High School where he played football and was a member of the wrestling team. He has worked for Tamko Building Products for over 36 years. He was an avid Star Trek fan and collected a lot of Star Trek memorabilia. He also enjoyed Stephen King novels.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alex and Lyle.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Harbison Minard; sons, Brandon West (Terri), Gabriel West (Renee) all of Joplin; daughter, Charissa Nolen and husband Chip of Joplin; grandchildren, twins Abby and Maddy West of the home, Chelsea West (Pat), Taylor West, Drew West, and Garrett Nolen; brother, Paul Minard and wife Darla of Joplin, sisters, Faith Hibschle and husband Jeff, Kimberly Jones and husband Matt; brother-in-law James Harbison, and long time friend Rex McCoy, both of whom have been supportive, and helped with his various projects.
Graveside service will be Friday, April 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery with Rev. Jeff D. Martin officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Cerebral Palsy of Tri-County Webb City Development Center.
