Kenneth Ray 'Ken' Booe, age 84, Whitehouse, Texas, passed away at 4:02 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Tyler, Texas, after an illness.
Ken was born January 4, 1933 in Galena, Kansas to the late Rev. Dow Booe and Ruby Pigg Booe and had lived in Joplin with his wife, Pat from 1956-2009.
He owned and operated Four State Auto Supply from 1972 until 1988 and was an agent with American National Insurance from 1989 until moving to Texas in 2009. Ken was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War.
Ken and Pat would spend every weekend bowling and traveling to Grand Lake. They caught a lot of fish but, he never took one bite. When the kids were young, he enjoyed being outside with them playing kickball, baseball or basketball. In most cases, the entire neighborhood joined in the fun. He also loved the game of golf.
He married Patricia Ann West on September 17, 1955 in Reno, Nevada. She survives at the home. Ken loved Pat with everything he had. They were best friends and were married for sixty one years. Ken would always make sure she had the best. Pat was always by his side and together, they spoiled each other rotten.
In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by three daughters, Joni Watts and husband, Jeff, Tyler, Texas, Cindy Seidler and husband, Victor, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jackie Randall and husband, Mark, Denton, Texas; six grandchildren, Eric, Justin, Kinsay, Magen, Jake, Dylan; and two great grandchildren, Jadin and Sawyer.
Ken was also preceded in death by brothers, Bob, Neil and Wayne; and a sister, Janice.
Services are planned for Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the mortuary.
