Mary Jeanette Von Paige, age 89, of Webb City, Mo., a longtime Joplin resident passed away at 2:40 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 at her home. Jeanette was born August 2, 1927 in Joplin, and was a lifetime Joplin resident until moving to Webb City in 2011 when her home was lost in the tornado. Jeanette was employed in the 1940’s with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., and in the 1960’s with the Meeker Leather Co. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Joplin.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Von Paige, and a son, Robert Von Paige. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Ann Wray and husband Tom, three grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
Jeanette had a genuine strength of spirit and love of life, no matter the circumstances. Her grace, honesty, love of singing and music, and quickness to laugh brought joy to everyone who knew her.
Private interment will be in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory.
