Fred LeRoy McReynolds, 87, Neosho, passed away April 28, 2017 at Medicalodge in Neosho. He was born July 25, 1929 in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Roy and Stella (Dykes) McReynolds.
Fred was a lifelong Neosho area resident. In 1957 he began working as a jet engine mechanic. He worked for Rocketdyne, Continental Aviation, Teledyne and Sabreliner until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Neosho VFW Post #4142 where he was the oldest member. He loved to karaoke, dance and spend time with his friends at the VFW.
Fred married Rosemary (Smith) on August 18, 1957 and she preceded him in death on April 28, 1998. He is survived by his son, Brian McReynolds (Tina) of Neosho; step daughter, Conna Morris (Bobby) of Neosho; brother, Clarence McReynolds (Sandi) of Carl Junction, MO; daughter-in-law, Lori Thomas of Webb City; eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Fred is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard LeRoy McReynolds who passed on Feb. 28, 1996 and two grandchildren, Christina McReynolds and Joseph Morris.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. Due to flooding conditions at the cemetery, interment will be held at a later date at Carl Junction Cemetery. Military services will be conducted at the chapel. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Fred may be made to VFW #4142, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O.
