Ronald Robert 'Ronnie' Tracy, age 85, Joplin, passed away at 9:21 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his home after an illness.
Ronnie was born August 28, 1931 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma to the late C.E. Tracy and Naomi Imogene Bailey Tracy and had lived in the Joplin area all of his life.
He worked as a machinist for Vickers, Teledyne and Rocketdyne in Neosho, retiring in 1984. Ronnie was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church.
He married Opal Lea Brittle on October 27, 1951 in Quapaw, Oklahoma. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include a son, Bob Tracy and wife, Lynnette, Riverton, Kansas; two daughters, Debra Jean Chenoweth and husband Terri, Carl Junction, Saundra Kay Conlee and husband Gary, Joplin; one brother, Gene Tracy, Joplin; a sister, Cheryl Ricks, Pittsburg, Kansas; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Edward Tracy, Jr.
Graveside services are planned for Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Hornet Cemetery. Rev. Jarel Burnside will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
