C. Michael "Mike" Striegel, age 77, lifelong resident of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 after an illness.
Mike was born August 12, 1939 in Joplin, son of the late Clarence Joseph Striegel and Ruth George Striegel. He served in the United States Army from 1958 through 1961. He returned to Joplin where he met Carol Ann Martin, and they were married in 1964.
Mike started a professional mowing service in 1962, and founded Mike's Mower Repair on S. Hwy 43 in 1965.
He was very good with his hands, and could repair just about anything. His hobbies over the years included woodworking, hunting, fishing, motorcycles, billiards, and riding his jet skis.
Mike was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed.
He leaves behind his wife, Carol; son, Brian Michael Striegel; grandchildren, Shanna Leann Striegel and Shane Michael Striegel; a sister, Lucille Barnes.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
A private celebration of his life will be held at a later time.
