Mrs. Pearl L. Grauerholz, 87, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Sarcoxie, departed this life on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri surrounded by her loving family.
Pearl entered this life on September 25, 1929 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to the union of the late Roland (Barney) & Violet (Vi) Scott Bertelsman. She was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School. On October 3, 1957 she was united in marriage to Leugene Grauerholz and together they shared twenty-one years until his passing on May 17, 1979. Pearl worked several years for Justin Boots in Sarcoxie and retired from EaglePicher Technologies, Joplin, Missouri. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Sarcoxie, Missouri. Pearl was a sixty-eight year member of the Order of Eastern Star, a member of Chapter 204 in Webb City, Missouri, and also a member of International Association of Rebekah Assemblies. She enjoyed bridge, contesting, couponing, crosswords and she was an avid reader. Pearl will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Leugene Grauerholz.
She is survived by her children, Sherry House Bunn (Bruce) and John House (Sherrie) all of Nixa, Missouri, Ricky House (Gay), Galena, Kansas, Sharon Turnbull and Stephen Leugene Grauerholz (Pam) all of Joplin, Missouri and Sue Grauerholz (Teresa) of Webb City, Missouri; her grandchildren, Christopher Bunn, Brian House, Joshua House, Skyler House, Amy Demotta, Lacey Hammond, Josh Hammond and Jessica Turner; great-grandchildren, Keagon Turner, Mason Turner, Ozias Phillips, Jessie Collins, Mikey Collins, Karli Collins, Garrett Parrish, Jessie Puckett, Andrew House and Sydney House; one cousin, Alice Marie Chandler (Bob); as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service for Pearl are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri with Curtis Denton officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Sarcoxie Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Christopher Bunn, Bruce Bunn, Kegan Turner, Mason Turner, John House, Ricky House and Steve Grauerholz. The family has requested memorial contributions be directed to the Joplin Humane Society and may be left at the funeral home.
