Mary Alice Woodmansee, age 100, of Webb City passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Spring River Christian Village.
She was born on March 26, 1917 in Galesburg, Missouri to John Pete Sabiston and Maude (Pryor) Sabiston. Mary retired from Sperry Vickers in 1980, and she also worked for Smith Brothers Factory, the Shoe Warehouse, and the Parsons Ammunition Plant. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Webb City and a Webb City High School graduate.
Mary married Harold Woodmansee on April 2, 1938 in Joplin and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1969. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Webb and Thelma Porter; and a brother, John Sabiston. Mary is survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City with Reverend Ron Woody officiating. Mary will lie in state for viewing on Monday between the hours of 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The family will be present for a visitation on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow the services in Weaver Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Mary's wishes were for donations to be given to the First Baptist Church in Webb City.
