Jerome E. "Jerry" Huellinghoff, age 75, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Mercy Hospital.
Jerry was born October 30, 1941 in Villa Ridge, Missouri, son of the late John Huellinghoff and Rose Kensell Huellinghoff. He grew up in Villa Ridge, and began his career as a truck driver at the age of 16. He and his brother purchased a pair of dump trucks and began Huellinghoff Brothers Hauling, which they did for several years. In the early 1970's Jerry began Huellinghoff Trucking, Inc. which he operated until his retirement in 2012. He was of the Catholic faith, and served in the National Guard for six years.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by son, Glen Keller, a grandson, Jimmy, and his brothers, Eddie and Tony.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gladys L. Huellinghoff; children, Dora Jeffers and husband Jerry of Carl Junction, Jean Simon and husband Jerry of Duenweg, Flora Jane Wilcox of Tyner, North Carolina, Patricia Farley and husband Roy of Joplin, Gail Vaughan and husband Larry of Joplin, Leroy Dickey and wife Donna of Neosho, Gary Keller of Joplin, Joetta Miller of Owensville, Missouri, and Ann Casey and husband Robert of Owensville; grandchildren, Kim, Doug, Andy, Rene', Chris, Matt, Jason, Zach, Heather, Zac, and Mistie; several great-grandchildren; brother, Freddie; sisters, Annie, Jeannie, Rita, Bernice, and Mary; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Chris Vaughan (grandson) officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
