Lucille Ridgway

Mrs. Lucille E. Ridgway, 92, of Seneca, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday evening, April 22, 2017, at the Seneca House Care Center, after months of declining health.

Lucille entered this life on March 3, 1925, in Picher, Oklahoma, one of five children born to the late Grover and Lillie Ann (Stout) Mersman. She was raised and attended school in Tiff City, Missouri. On August 17, 1951, in Iola, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Marshall Ridgway and together they have shared the last sixty-five years. They resided in Kansas and California before purchasing a farm near Seneca, Missouri in 1957. Lucille was a devoted homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed fishing and fellowship with her church family. She was a longtime member of Victory Road Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four children, Judith Ann Cummings, Leona Hurley, Larry Michael and Diana Rudd; a granddaughter, Anna Brown; and four siblings, Ed and Bob Mersman, Gertrude Hodson and Irene Anderton.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Marshall Ridgway of the home; one son, Bill Michael and wife, Sue, of Seneca, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren; several great and great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ridgway are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the Victory Road Church with Pastors Roland Keith and Darren Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Grove Cemetery near Seneca, Missouri. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Keith Standlee, Blake Butler, Jimmy Caudill, Jackie Caudill, Corey Robbins, T.J. Smith, Travis Smith and Seth Cummings. Ivan Hardesty, Ron Keith, Darrel Lawrence and Wesley Robbins will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Memorials are being directed to the Victory Road Church c/o the funeral home.
