Louise “Becky” Nichols, age 90, of Liberal, Missouri passed Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Via Christi Village, Pittsburg, Kansas.
Becky was born July 10, 1926 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Joseph E. Becker and Eunice Lilly (Dobbs) Becker. She attended Leavenworth and McLouth Schools and was a high school graduate. On October 14, 1947, she married Richard C. Nichols in Bentonville, Arkansas and together they raised four children. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing clothes for her children when they were young. Becky also loved reading and writing in her daily journal and was an avid KU Jayhawks fan. She was of the Methodist faith.
Becky leaves behind one son, Rich Nichols, and fiancée Glenda Sechler, Joplin, Missouri; three daughters; Connie and husband Doug Schmidt, Honor, Michigan, Suzette Cowan, and Renee Jones, both of Liberal, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Ryan, Darren, Doug, Christopher, Jane, Caleigh, Chris, Stephanie, Amy, Tracy, and Dexter; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, parents, one brother, Joseph Becker, and a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Denise Nichols, and a daughter-in-law, Teresa Nichols.
Graveside service will be 2:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Liberal City Cemetery with Rev. Roger McKee officiating.
