Velma Lee

Velma P. "Bubbles" Lee, age 56 of Carl Junction, passed away at her home on Monday, August 29, 2022.

Velma was born in Presque Isle, Maine on December 8, 1965 to Garth Sharp and Linda Kinney. She lived in Maine until the 8th Grade when she moved to Massachusetts, and then to Joplin during her teenage years. She was incredibly friendly and helpful to anyone who needed her.

She was united in marriage with John Lee in April of 2021. He passed away just five months later in September of 2021.

She is survived by her father, Garth Sharp of Carl Junction; her mother, Linda Klinzman of Columbus, KS; four siblings, Garth C. Sharp, III (wife, Lisa) of Northborough, MA, Carrie Mikalunis of Carl Junction, John Sharp of Maine, and Bonnie Mikalunis of Maine; two children, Chelsea Garcia of Joplin, and Matt Crane of Missouri; two grandkids, Adrianna Garcia and Riley Sharp; and several close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee; and two sons, Steven Ryan Sharp and Justin Crane.

Mrs. Lee has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus for cremation. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
