(From Parker Mortuary)William “Bill” James Sprenger, age 82, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on June 10, 2023 in Joplin, Missouri.
Bill was born on July 3, 1940 in Mountain View, Missouri, to the late George and Gladys Sprenger.
He married the love of his life, Frances (Hoey) Sprenger, on December 14, 1961at Bethel United Methodist Church in Carthage, Missouri. Together, they enjoyed raising their 4 children.
Bill enjoyed fishing and camping at the lake. He was a proud member of the masonic lodge, and was a boy scout leader when his kids were younger. He had an impressive collection of coffee mugs and eagles.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, George Sprenger, Jr., Herman Jess Sprenger, and sister, Dorothy An Watkins.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Sprenger of Carthage, Missouri; children, Scott Sprenger (Kim) of Joplin, Mike Sprenger (Melissa) of West Richland, Washington, Rusty Sprenger (Paula Sue) of Neosho, Missouri, and Paula Maxine Sprenger of Carthage, Missouri; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Visitation will be on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel in Joplin, Missouri.
Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
