Evelyn Stribling

Mary “Evelyn” (Sperandio) Stribling, age 90 of Monett, MO passed away on July 10, 2023, in Monett after a short illness.

Evelyn was born on June 18, 1933, the daughter of the late Dominic and Theresa (Stark) Sperandio in Verona, MO where she was raised and graduated high school. 

Evelyn dedicated her life to hard work while providing loving care for others, especially her family. She was a lifelong farmer, gardener, homemaker (known for the best pies around), loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was skilled at sewing clothes for the family and was a true artist making many quilts as special gifts for others to treasure. Everyone she met was touched by her true heart of gold.








Evelyn is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert (Bob) Stribling; her son, Bill Stribling and wife Joyce of Webb City, MO; daughter, Joyce Cartwright and husband Roy of Green Bay, WI; daughter, Mary Mayfield and husband Larry of Ozark, MO; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, John Sperandio and wife Linda of Verona, MO; and sister-in-law, Pat Sperandio of Verona, MO; as well as extended family and friends.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edward Sperandio, and Donald Sperandio; two sisters, Virginia Craft, and Alberta Schultz.








Funeral service for Evelyn will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett, MO with Pastor Charles Bahn officiating. Burial is to follow at the Spring River Cemetery (aka Shady Grove Cemetery) in Verona, MO. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Youngberg Chapel P.O. Box 147, Verona, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
