(From Buchanan Funeral Home)Vera Janice (Nutting) Beshears, 93, of Monett, MO, passed away after a short illness on July 18, 2023, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield.
“Janice” was born on November 11, 1929 in Seneca, MO, daughter of the late Everett & Flo (Young) Nutting.
Janice married Junior Leroy Beshears on April 6, 1947 in Columbus, KS. They started their home in Seneca, and eventually moved to Monett in 1958 with their five children.
Janice dedicated her life to raising many children in the Monett area, by providing childcare for over 32 years. She tried several times to retire, only to be drawn back into bringing more children into her home.
Janice was a member of the First Christian Church in Monett for many years, where she also taught children Sunday School Classes.
Surviving family members are the remainder of their four children, Donna (Dave) Beckett of Monett, Diane (Lon) Dupre of Monett, Debbie Buchanan of Shell Knob and Dale (LeeAnn) Beshears of Miller, MO; her grandkids who have many stories to tell about their Grandma are Darrin (Durrel) Tudor, Derek (Jennifer) Tudor, Dustin (Chelsea) Tudor, Denae Beckett, Dedre (Stuart) Fitzgerald, Denver (Jamie) Buchanan, Dallas (Michelle) Buchanan, Brandy (Brian) Jameson, Misty Hanneken, Lindsey (Josh) Anderson, Christi (Jim) Eden, along with a multitude of great-grandkids and several great-great grandkids.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband; their son, Dennis Lee Beshears; parents; a brother, Jack Nutting; and three sisters, Mary Joyce Nutting, Ina Mae Christiansen and Loleta Parmley.
Graveside services for Janice will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett. The family is requesting friends can come by the funeral home on Friday for viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been requested to the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library, Monett Branch, Childrens Division. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
