(From Parker Mortuary)May Ellen Roland, 72, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away at home with her family by her side on July 27, 2023.
May was born on August 19, 1950, in Brookfield, Missouri, to the late George and Lela (Twitchell) Gaston. She enjoyed her job as a seamstress, working at a clothing factory for many years. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan, loved riding horses, but what she loved most was spending time with her grandchildren. They enjoyed their yearly tradition of going to the rodeo and fair together.
Along with her parents, May is preceded in death by her son, George; and 6 siblings.
May is survived by the love of her life, James Baldwin, of Joplin, Missouri; children, Jeffery Seward (Amanda) of Joplin, Missouri, Donald Roland (Tiffany) of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Levi, Allen, Alexis, Madelynn, and Briley; great-grandchildren, Karter and Holden; sister, Barbara Isbell of Joplin, Missouri; brothers, David Gaston and Mark Gaston, both of Carterville, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her residence on the farm, at a later date. Cremation is under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
