(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Khristopher “Khris” Daniel Oakes, 46, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, in Carthage, Missouri. Khris was born August 6, 1976, in McAllister, Oklahoma to Kenneth Oakes and Terri Ball. He was a longtime Carthage resident.
Khris had worked at Maple Tree Terrace in Carthage, Missouri as a chef/cook. He loved to draw, sketch and cook for his family. He also enjoyed bragging about how well he cooked steaks!
Khris was united in marriage to Kelly Franklin in August of 2003 in Carthage, Missouri; she survives.
Khris is survived by his wife, Kelly Oakes; his son, Khristopher Izak Oakes of Joplin, Missouri; four daughters, Kailey Oakes of Carthage, Missouri, Kadence Oakes of Oklahoma, Kaprice Oakes of Carterville, Missouri, and Jessica Whysper (Craig) of Arkansas; one grandson, Ezrah Oakes; and his parents, Kenneth and Cheri Oakes of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Terri Oakes of Carthage, Missouri.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
