(From Clark Funeral Home)Joyce Elaine Holland was born on June 1, 1952, in San Diego, California, one of six children to Bob and Freda Mae (Smith) West. She entered into rest on July 16, 2023, at her home in Neosho, at the age of 71.
Joyce was a lifelong area resident and lived in the Mt. Vernon, Missouri area for many years. She was a graduate of Seneca High School and received her LPN from Franklin Technical School in Joplin.
Joyce had worked at Oak Hill Hospital in Joplin, area nursing homes and retired from the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. She worked in the nursing field for over 44 years before retiring.
Joyce loved animals, watching birds, fishing and her fur babies, Bubba, Pretty Boy and Monkey. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Joyce is survived by her son, Toby Estes and wife, Keely of Neosho; four grandchildren, Matthew Estes, Hannah Estes, Ryan Hunt and Megan Swagerty; three great-grandchildren, Emerie, Lachlan and Anyston; four sisters, Becky Medlin and husband, Ben of Mt. Vernon, Katie Barley and husband, Darrel of Joplin, Jeanne Yearton and husband, Steven of Joplin, Joanne Wetzel and husband, Doug of Seneca and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a beloved brother, Thomas West.
Services for Joyce will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 2 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in the Thompson Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
