(From Parker Mortuary)Heather Lynne Hicks, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.
Heather was born on September 30, 1978 in Joplin, MO, to Jim and Vicki Vannaman. She grew up in Diamond, MO and graduated from College Heights Christian School class of 1996. She then attended and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Summa Cum Laude, from Missouri Southern State University in 2000.
On November 8, 2003 she married Michael John Hicks in Joplin, MO. Heather enjoyed nature, camping, road trips, classic books and her garden. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was full of wisdom and beauty which she deeply invested into the lives of the people around her. Most important of all she loved her savior Jesus Christ. Heather and her family are members of Cross Point Fellowship in Diamond.
Heather is survived by her husband, Michael Hicks; two daughters, Sierra Joy Hicks and Maya Grace Hicks; parents, Jim and Vicki Vannaman; mother-in-law, Carol Hicks; siblings, Seth Vannaman and wife, Kelsy; Summer Stubbs and husband, Jason; sister-in-law, Melanie D’Anna and husband, Valter; nieces and nephews, Rylan, Cameryn, Elijah, Giovanni, Preston, Liam and Connor.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made out to the Proclamation Youth Choir (PYC).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at College Heights Christian Church. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at College Heights Christian Church with pastor Greg Snow officiating. Interment to follow at Diamond Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
