Timothy O'Neal

Timothy Paul “Big Chief” O’Neal, age 46, of Joplin, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 10, 2023, at his home in Joplin.

Timothy, son of the late Robert and Imogene (Campbell) O’Neal, was born on February 24, 1977, in Carl Junction. He grew up running the banks of Shoal Creek and at a young age he entered into the family business of water tower maintenance. He currently owned and operated Integrity Tank Solutions in Joplin. He was united in marriage to April Wiley on December 19, 2009, in Joplin.

 

Timothy loved the Lord, his family, and the many residents and alumni of In His Hands Ministry. He was never anonymous about his past addiction struggles and turned his story into encouragement and help for others. Timothy and April felt the calling to start a Christian-based women's discipleship home for women trapped in cycles of addiction and abuse. Together they dedicated their lives to help and witness the love and grace of Jesus Christ to women in the Southwest Missouri area. 

Timothy also extended his ministry outreach working with the local jails, prisons, and riding with the motorcycle ministry. His infectious laughter, big heart, and his loving caring ways will be missed by those who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, April O’Neal, of Joplin; children, Elijah Robert Conrad O’Neal, Jahlynn Marie O’Neal, and her fiancé, Brandon Cox, Dylan Kane O’Neal, and Garrett Paul O’Neal, all of Joplin; one brother, Jack F. O’Neal, and his wife, Venita, of Joplin; two nieces, Bonnie (O’Neal) Peavler, and her husband, Cordero, and Francis O’Neal, all of Joplin; father-in-law and best friend, Jeff Wiley, of Golden; his lifelong friend, Ernest Bass, and great nephews, James O’Neal Taylor, Denhiem Peavler, Ayden Peavler, and Elias Peavler. 

In addition to his parents, Timothy was preceded in death by two siblings, Robert E. O’Neal and Rebecca O’Neal.
