(From Buchanan Funeral Home)Janice Mettlach, 70, of Sarcoxie, MO, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 27, 2023.
Janice was born on January 7, 1953 in Canton IL, daughter of the late Reverend Elmer and Ruth (Guy) Schnelle. She graduated from Mason City High School, Mason City, IL, with the class of 1971. She then furthered her education at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL where she graduated with her nursing degree in 1974.
She began her career as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO and later worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Monett. She worked for many years at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center, retiring in 2005.
Janice was very passionate about her faith in God and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sarcoxie. She was a very caring person and she adored her grandkids and getting to spend time with them. She enjoyed reading and had a huge heart for all kinds of animals, but especially her pets.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jason Williams; and one sister, Lisa Ingram.
Survivors include her daughter, Lea Ann Broderick and husband Nick, of Pierce City, MO; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lee, of Springfield, MO; two brothers, David Schnelle and wife Janice and Mark Schnelle, all of Springfield MO; a brother-in-law, David Ingram, of Preston, MO, five grandchildren, Grace and Jackson Broderick, Loren Gillette, Ethan and Sidda Williams; one great-granddaughter, Laila Gillette; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett, MO on Wednesday, August 2, from 5-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Jake Sletten and Reverend Gary Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
