(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Judy Charlene (Woods) Davis, a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her, peacefully passed away on September 28, 2024, at her home in Mooresville, NC.
Born on October 22, 1941, Judy lived a full and vibrant life characterized by her unwavering devotion to her family, her faith, and the simple joys of everyday life.
Judy's early years were shaped by the love and guidance of her parents, Charles L. Hughes and Ella Cartwright. Throughout her life, she remained close to her siblings, Kay Marchand, Gerald Hughes (Pam), Paula Hughes and Ceola Hughes, sharing in the richness of family ties. Her life was marked by the cherished memories she created with her own children, Kellie Elliott, Leslie Woods, Tracy Beyer (Mike), Neil Woods, II., (Julie), and Charles Woods (Debbie). The legacy of Judy's loving spirit will live on through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles L. Hughes and Ella Cartwright; husbands, Neil S. Woods and Thompson E. Davis and brother, Ceola Hughes. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and her memories with them were treasured until her last moments.
Judy's role as a devoted homemaker was a testament to her nurturing nature and her ability to create a warm and welcoming environment for all who crossed her threshold. Her home was a haven of comfort and joy, filled with the aroma of home-cooked meals and the laughter of her loved ones. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, and she took great pride in providing a loving foundation upon which her children and grandchildren could build their lives.
Her faith was an integral part of her existence. As a dedicated member of the Methodist church, Judy's spiritual life was a source of strength and inspiration, not only for herself but also for those around her. She found solace in her beliefs and was an example of living one's faith through actions of love and service.
Judy will be remembered for the warmth she exuded and the kindness she bestowed upon others. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Judy can attest to her loving nature, which was a constant source of comfort to her family and friends. Her smile, her gentle demeanor, and her willingness to lend an ear or a helping hand will be deeply missed by all. Judy's final days were spent as she lived, surrounded by love and family, in the comfort of her home. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 4,2024 at Sarcoxie Cemetery with Pastor James Yost officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made Solace House of the Ozarks or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
