Geraldine Davidson

Geraldine G. Davidson, 88, Stella, died May 26, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital, following a short illness.

Geraldine was born May 22, 1926 in Joplin, MO, the daughter of Charles C. and Mildred (Eaton) Millard. She was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Midway School in 1944. Geraldine was a homemaker and after her children were grown, she graduated from Crowder College with an Associates of Arts degree. She was an avid writer and had published a novel, she wrote poetry, short stories and songs. She was an avid genealogist and she loved being a Grandma. Geraldine was a member of the Jones Chapel Church and had a love for children’s ministry and missions and was a member of the Ladies Auxillary. 

Geraldine married John Bruce Davidson on Jan. 17, 1948 at Monett, MO and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1999. She then married Tony Gene Woodrum on March 30, 2003 and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2004. Geraldine is survived by four children, Jerann Deardorff, Neosho; John Davidson and wife, Susan, Joplin; Wendy Linton and husband, Bill, Stark City, MO; Jill Greer and husband, Jan, Stark City, MO; twelve grandchildren, Jeff Wilson and wife, Poppy; Larry Deardorff; Tabetha Meadows and husband, Dana; Eric Linton, Ryan Linton, Jared Hopkins, Zachary Greek, Tehya Deardorff, Casey Wilson, Corey Persinger, Cody Persinger, Alisha Wilson and Kendra Wilson; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a sister, Barbara June Oxendine, Joplin. Also surviving are three step children, Joyce Meredith and husband, Harold, Neosho; Gary Woodrum and wife, Evelyn, Pittsburg, KS and Angela Glunt and husband, Kevin, Lenexa, KS and four step grandchildren, Joshua Glunt, Andrew Glunt, Meghan Woodrum and Michael Woodrum. Geraldine is also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Davidson.
