Hugh Aubrey, 88, of Carthage passed away after a sudden illness on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Freeman Hospital. Hugh was born November 22, 1925 in Viola, Missouri. He was the son of Dee Aubrey and Jessie “Filbeck” Aubrey. Hugh was a lifelong farmer and resident of Carthage. He was a member of the Joplin Full Gospel Church.
Hugh was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Williams on May 29, 1945 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She preceded him in death in March 1998.
Survivors include two sons; Eugene Aubrey and his wife Shirley of Carthage and Keith Aubrey and his wife Debbie of Carthage, one daughter; Deanna Kobak and her husband Roger of Neosho, one sister; Bobbie Block and her husband LeRoy of Reeds, MO, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Hugh was preceded in death by two brothers; Earl Aubrey and Elmer Aubrey and one sister; Eula Biggerstaff. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Dudman Springs Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com.
