Lois B. Campbell, age 83 of Joplin, MO passed away on Friday May 16, 2014 following a long illness.
Lois was born on April 22, 1931 in Joplin, the daughter of the late Wilmer and Veva (Drake) Lawson. She has been a lifetime area resident. She operated a licensed home daycare for many years. Most recently she worked with her sister, Lera Dill, at Magnolia House Gifts & Antiques before her health forced Lois to retire. Together the sisters sponsored a club for Belsnickle collectors. She was a member and Church Treasurer of Fairview Baptist Church. Lois loved quilt making and looked forward to displaying her quilts and vintage linens at Silver Dollar City every year at their Fall Festival. She also enjoyed crotcheting, gardening, collecting vintage linens and fabrics. Most importantly Lois loved her family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Campbell, their daughter; Janis Powell her husband Tom of Joplin; their son Brad Campbell his wife Teresa of Libery, MO; five grandchildren; Brian Boucher, Adam Powell, Stacy DuPree, Chris Campbell, and Erin Campbell, six great-grandchildren, two sisters; Leta Sowersby and Lera Dill, both of Joplin.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 20, 2014 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Brother John Mitchell, officiating. Burial will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
