Nancy L. Duncan, age 84, of Tomah, WI, went to be with her heavenly Father, Monday, May 5, 2014, from her daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Todd Derkez’s home in Tomah, Wisconsin. She was born January 17, 1930, to Carl Junction Battin and Lula (Bailey) Battin in Carl Junction, Missouri. She spent her childhood in Carl Junction.
She was united in marriage to Francis Staab; to this union five children were born. She later married Jim Duncan. She lived the past 30 years in Wisconsin. Nancy worked at as a caregiver for Veterans. She was also the President of the Camp Douglas VFW Auxiliary. She loved to read the Bible, sing hymns and listening to music. She was a Green Bay Packer Fan and loved watching football. Nancy loved her family more than anything.
Nancy is survived by her children, Donna Challender, Cathy Spence, Francis Staab, Lula Smyser and Christina (Todd) Derkez, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, siblings, Esther, Pat, Carla and Marian (Ed), nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Francis Staab and Jim Duncan, a sister, Dean, a brother, Carl, a grandson, Ryan Syverson, and a son-in-law, Roger Smyser.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Carl Junction Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Carl Junction. Visitwww.simpsonfh.com for online condolences.
