Janice Tanner

Janice Tanner, 76, Webb City was welcomed home by God after a lengthy illness on May 12, 2014. Born to Kenneth and Nathalee Smith on February 10, 1938 in Joplin, MO, she was a lifelong resident of the Joplin-Neosho area. Janice was a full-time mother who enjoyed collecting antiques and restoring old houses. She was employed at Fraley Funeral Supply for several years. 

Janice served her Lord as an active member of Harmony Heights Baptist Church for many years.
She was married to the love of her life, Drexal (Rex) Tanner for 55 years. He preceded her in death on Sept 14, 2009.
 
Janice is survived by two daughters, Linda Hayes (Kevin) of Webb City with whom she shared her home, Ellon Darr (Mike) of Joplin. Two sons, Stephen Tanner (Judy) of Joplin, and Tim Tanner of Houston, TX. Six Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren and one on the way. Two sisters, Edwina Cohen, Joplin, and Bonnie Grey, Drakesboro, KY. Several nieces and nephews and her faithful dog, Buddy. 

A memorial visitation will be held, Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 6:30 - 7:30 at Harmony Heights Baptist Church, 20th and Indiana, Joplin, MO A private family graveside will be held in Neosho IOOF Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to Martin Luther School, C/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850-0066. The family would like to thank Oxford Hospice and Stacy and Shelly for their exceptional care to Janice.
