Tauressa J. Flippin, age 95 of Carthage, MO passed away peacefully Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation. Tauressa was born May 25, 1918 to the late Fred N. Estes and Bessy Barnett Estes in Joplin. She retired from US Bank also known as the former First National Bank of Joplin. Tauressa was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star as well as Unity Baptist Church in Joplin.
She married Eugene Flippin on February 26, 1936 in Joplin, he preceded her in death on February 7, 1961. Tauressa was also preceded in death by one daughter, Iona Clemons; sister, Dorothy Duncan; brother, Clarence Estes and all her aunts and uncles.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Shirley Triplett and husband Tony of Carthage, MO; 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside service is planned for Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Baxter Springs City Cemetery, Baxter Springs, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Unity Baptist Church of Joplin in care of the mortuary.
Services are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, MO.
