Darrel Kent Purtle, 69, Nevada, MO passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Nevada Regional Medical Center. Darrel was born February 15, 1951 in Cedar Springs, MO to Frank and Helen Purtle.
Darrel leaves behind the love of his life, soul mate and best friend, Carleen (Fisher) Purtle of the home, whom he married on April 9, 1988 in El Dorado Springs, MO.
Darrel grew up in the El Dorado Springs area and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1969. He lived most of his adult life in Nevada and has been a self-employed carpenter for the past 20 years. Darrel was an active member of the Church of God Holiness in Liberal, MO. He loved the Lord and loved playing gospel music on his instruments with his wife Carleen. He will be greatly missed by his wife, his family, his friends and his church.

In addition to his wife Carleen, he is also survived by his sisters, Glenda Mays (Steve), Nevada, and Lora Bourland (Milan), South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Eileen Gunder (Rick), Fair Grove, MO, and Joanna Hendricks, El Dorado Springs, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Robert Sisseck officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
