Ethel Louise Copeland, age 94, Galena, Kansas, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Louise was born August 8, 1925 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Alene Lewis and Robert Hancock. She grew up in Joplin, Missouri. Louise was a homemaker all her life, a devoted wife, mom, grandmother and a friend to many. She enjoyed taking care of people and attending church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert "Chief" Nance, and a grandson, Robert Darriel Sunday.
On June 23, 1969, Louise married Elza Eugene Copeland. He survives at the home.
Additional survivors include a son, Keith Odell Nance of Joplin; daughter, Torie Louise Nance-Bryant of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; granddaughters, Traci Lynn Nance-Parrish of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mindy Alene Nance-Darnaby of Joplin.
Graveside services will be Friday, March 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Alan McCamey officiating.
