Johnnie Riddle

Johnnie Melvin Riddle, age 81, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 6:06 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born February 27, 1938, in Boone County, Arkansas, the son of Clifford and Lori (Proctor) Riddle.

Johnnie was a United States Navy Veteran and he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Kansas City, Kansas for 20 years. He was a custodian for the Turner High School in Kansas City, Kansas and was a retired truck driver.

On August 4, 1967, he married Connie Louise Ragsdale, in Mt. Vernon. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2019.








Johnnie is survived by three daughters, Angela Howell and her husband, Monte, of Farmington, Arkansas, Pamela Bernard and her husband, Terry, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Melody Shaw of Belton, Missouri; five sisters-in-law, Hazel Spurgeon and her husband, Paul, of Kirbyville, Missouri, Marty Kultgen of Miller, Missouri, Sandy Hadley and her husband, Charles, of Marionville, Missouri, Carlita Vandergrift and Candy Ragsdale, both of Mt. Vernon; six brothers-in-law, Leon Ragsdale and his wife, Monica, of Miller, Randy Ragsdale and his wife, Debbie, of Joplin, Missouri, Mark Ragsdale and his wife, Connie, of Miller, Alan Ragsdale of Joplin, Missouri, Jeff Ragsdale and his wife, Cheryle, of Seneca, Missouri and Mike Ragsdale and his wife, Carrie, of Miller; four grandchildren, Reagan Duncan and her husband, Billy, of Bolivar, Missouri, Shelby Grace, of Kansas City, Kansas and Devon and Ian Shaw, of Belton, Missouri; two great- grandchildren, Sequoia and Oliva Duncan of Bolivar.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lori, wife, Connie, and one sister, Margie McGehee and her husband, Don.

A private family burial will be held at the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery.
