Dorothy Renburg

Dorothy Virginia Renburg, age 99, Joplin, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at Westgate at Wildwood Ranch in Joplin, Missouri.

Dot was born September 20, 1920 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late Thomas Brothers and Elizabeth Schwerkert Brothers. After spending her early life in Cape Girardeau, Dot moved with her husband Carl to Comfrey, Minnesota where they farmed. In 1966 Dot and Carl moved to Joplin area and made it their home.

Dot was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church and worked as a sales clerk for several local department stores. Dot loved to plant flowers, was an avid gardener, an amazing cook, enjoyed playing cards, and loved to dance and listen to country music. She will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.

Dot married Carl Renburg on November 5, 1944 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1986.








In addition to her parents, Dot was also preceded in death two sons, David Renburg and Douglas Renburg; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Renburg; five brothers and one sister.

Additional survivors include her son, Tom Renburg and friend, Tammy Harris, Joplin, Missouri; daughter, Virginia Thomas, Joplin, Missouri; grandchildren, Michael Renburg and wife, Michelle, Travis Renburg and wife, Angie, Misty Bowman and husband, Rob, Carla Stanton and husband, Richard, Carl Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Maggie, Brooke, Cody, Andrew, Andrea, Cody, Chase, Austin, Trendon, Madison; siblings, Betty, Lawanda, Barb, Lou; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Memorial Services will be held at Parker Mortuary on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. B.A. Austin will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
