Evelyn Delores Sloan of Peoria, OK passed from this life Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at her home. She was 73.
Evelyn was born July 11, 1946 in Ironton, MO to Marvin and Maideth (Lewis) Barton. She had lived in Peoria for 41 years moving from Ironton, MO. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband Jimmie Sloan doing carpenter work. She was a member of the V.F.W. in Baxter Springs, KS.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Sloan, her parents and 5 brothers, Lee Barton, James Barton, Jerry Barton, Larry Barton and Almer Barton.
Evelyn is survived by 2 sons, Donald Gideon of Tulsa, OK and Ronald Gideon of Sycamore, IL, 1 daughter, Tammy Hayes and husband Henry of Peoria, OK, 3 step-sons, Wayne Sloan and wife Carolyn of Baxter Springs, KS, Kenny Sloan of Ellington, MO and Ricky Sloan and wife Dana of Miami, OK, 2 step-daughters, Cathy Sloan of North Miami, OK and Cherri Martin of Joplin, MO, 2 brothers, Wilmer Barton of Ironton, MO and Lawrence Barton of Farmington, MO, 3 sisters, Ruth Haus of Belleview, MO, Linda Helms of Ironton, MO and Doris Critsers of Ironton, MO, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends with a come and go reception at the Peoria Community Center in Peoria, OK from 1-5 p.m. Sunday March 22, 2020. With the health, safety and welfare of friends and family being of utmost importance, due to coronavirus (COVID-19), Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens in Miami, OK. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
