Deborah Hood

Mrs. Deborah Gail Hood, 62, of Carterville, Missouri, formerly of Sarcoxie, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.

Deborah entered this life in Monett, Missouri on February 1, 1958 to the union of the late Charles Earnest and Mable (Bristo) Rodgers. For several years she worked as a CNA. After the passing of her husband, Richard Klouse, she later was united in marriage to Wayne Hood on February 18, 2017. She attended Oasis Church of Joplin. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends. She will be truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard Klouse; daughter-in-law, Mary DePreste; siblings, John Rodgers and Mary Orr.








Deborah is survived by her husband, Wayne Hood; sons, Brian DePreste, Jr. (Melinda) of Carterville and Charles DePreste, Sr. of Sarcoxie; grandchildren, Kaya Christopher (Cody), Courtney Ayres (Nick), Kyra DePreste, Somairah DePreste, Brian DePreste, III., Ezra DePreste, Charles DePreste, Jr. (Angelica), Janelle DePreste, Allison DePreste, Skylar Lewis; several great grandchildren; stepchildren, Terry Hood (Kim) of Neck City, Missouri, Brenda Patrick (Tim), Barbara Stafford all of Carthage, Missouri and Shonda McClure (Nathan) of Nicholasville, Kentucky; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; father of her sons, Brian DePreste, Sr.; siblings, Bill Brown (Stephanie) and Jim Brown; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Park Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri, with Pastors Sherman Burruss and Steve Finney officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Charles DePreste, Sr., Brian DePreste, Jr., Brian DePreste, III, Charles DePreste, Jr., Skylar Lewis and Cody Christopher; honorary pallbearer will be Ezra DePreste.
