Chris George

Christopher David George, 55, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on March 30, 2023 at his home with his wife and family at his side. 

Chris was born on June 13, 1967 in Kansas City, Kansas to his Father, Loyal George, and his Mother, Gloria Meadows. He graduated from Diamond High School in Diamond, Missouri in 1986. 

Chris moved to Springfield, Missouri, where he soon after met his wife, Christy, and they were married in 1993. 

Chris had many interests, hobbies and collections. He spent many hours building model car kits and collecting slot cars, trains and hot wheels. He enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Blues hockey and NASCAR. 

Chris was always a very hard worker. He started working when he was 12 years old and continued working the rest of his years in the construction field and sales. He made many lifelong friends throughout the years and will be greatly missed by many. 

Chris is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Christy George and their cats, his Father Loyal George, his Mother Gloria Meadows, his brother Tracy George and wife Kelly, his brother Shandrew George and wife Angel, his sister Sharmon Vaughn and husband Johnny, 11 nieces and nephews, 3 great nieces and nephews, and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. 

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Alma George, and Harry and OhDean Meadows, his cousin Rhonda Meadows, his Uncle Leon George, his Father-in-law Russell Jones Jr, his Mother-in-law Marcella Jones, and his brother-in-law Roger Jones. 

A Celebration of Life for Chris will be held on April 15, 2023 at the Briar Street Baptist Church located at 1361 East Briar St. Springfield Missouri. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with service starting at 11:00 am. Feel free to wear any Kansas City Chiefs apparel or accessory (or anything red or yellow/gold) in his honor.
