(From Brenner Mortuary)Betty Jolene Oehme, 94, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away on July 02, 2023, at Clinton Healthcare & Rehab Center in Warsaw, Missouri.
Betty was born on November 29, 1928 to Ernest and Dortha (Gillman) Cooper where she was a member of the Wheaton Baptist Church and a graduate of Wheaton High School.
She married Bill Bell of Joplin, Missouri. Of this union two children were born, Ernest G. Bell and Sheila M (Bell) Buckallew.

She later married Claude W Oehme Sr. in Miami, Oklahoma on February 20, 1975. Betty joined Claude making their home in Pittsburg, KS where she lived until her health moved her to Warsaw, MO under the care of her daughter. Betty Joined Rob Morris Chapter 74 in 1975. She held an office every year during her membership. She held an appointed office in Grand Chapter and she was appointed and served as District Aide for 1993-1994. She served many offices in her Pittsburg Chapter as well of Girard and Weir Chapters of KS. She has membership at Weir now.
Betty and Claude were avid fishing partners as well as hunting pheasant and quail. Another love of their life was dancing. They averaged 3 to 4 dances each week going to Oklahoma, Missouri, and of course Kansas. Her other interest included Bingo, Pinochle, and Majong.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Bell on Aug 2, 1973, her husband Claude Oehme on July 13, 2012, a sister, Doris Lee, an infant brother and 2 nephews.

She is survived by her son, Ernest G Bell, and wife Kim, of Burnet, TX; Sheila M. Buckallew, and husband Buck, of Warsaw, MO; a brother Curt Cooper and wife Martha; four grandchildren, Tonisha, Machelle, Melisa, and Dave; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Brenner Mortuary. A visitation will be held on Wednesday 1 hour prior to the start of the service at Brenner Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
