(From Lawson's Funeral Home)Catherine Bucilla Dick Brown was born June 9, 1950, to Dale and Geneva Dick at their home in rural Indianola district. She was the 7th of 12 children.
She attended the Indianola one room school her 1st 3 years. The rest of her schooling was at Jay. She graduated from Jay in 1968.
Bucilla married Lucky Brown on May 14, 1971. She had 2 sons, Shawn and Brian.
She retired after 33 years from AT&T in Oklahoma City. After returning to Jay, she worked at the electric company in Siloam. She later worked as a home health provider until her own health failed. Bucilla enjoyed going to garage sales, playing games, going to the casino, shopping and spending time with family and traveling.
Bucilla is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Geneva Dick; her husband Lucky; her son Brian; stepchildren Clandra and Travis; grandchildren Quesha and Donyea; two brothers Clifford and Larry Dick and one sister Sue Jenkins.
She is survived by one son Shawn; 2 stepchildren Meryl and Nicole; grandson Benjamin Stephenson; 3 brothers Ron Dick of Grants Pass, Oregon; Loyd and Quannah Dick of Fairland, OK; Rodney and Sonya Dick of Jay, OK; 5 sisters, Mary Ellen Knight of Jay, OK; Doris Reece of Southwest City, MO; Dallene Herrington of Diamond, MO; Yolanda and Gene Hutchison of Jay, OK; Debbie and John Mikulan of Sapulpa,OK; 14 grandchildren, multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bucilla’s family visitation to greet friends will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St. Jay, OK 74346.
Bucilla’s Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 11:00am, July 8, 2023 at Lawson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Garland Jenkins officiating. Her service will conclude in the Chapel.
