(From Parker Mortuary)Denise “Ace” Seller, age 70, of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.
D, daughter of the late Sylvester and Bernice Hager, was born on November 7, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew and attended school in St. Louis graduating from Corpus Christi High School in 1971. On February 4, 1978, she was united in marriage to her best friend, J.D. Jimmie Dean Seller, in Creve Coeur, MO. Together they enjoyed over 44 years of marriage and raising a family until his passing on November 15, 2022.
After moving to the Joplin area, D attended Missouri Southern State University where she attained her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. She then went to work for the Ozark Center where she remained until her retirement. D loved the Lord and often visited area residential care facilities with friends to sing hymns of praise and offer encouragement to those who were homebound. D was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed crocheting and loved animals. She especially enjoyed watching the birds and feeding the squirrels and rabbits around her home.
Survivors include her two children, April Marie Horne, and her husband, Darryl, of Wichita Falls, TX, and James Michael Seller, of Joplin; and two grandchildren, Wesley Keith Randall, and Isabella Marie Twombly. In addition to her parents and husband, D was preceded in death by one sister, Sandy Helton.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, July 15th beginning at 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
