Bill Hess

(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory)

William Joe “Bill” Hess, 85, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, in Goodman, Missouri. Bill was born December 6, 1938, in Broken Arrow, OK, to Harvey and Laura (Williams) Hess. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all.

Bill’s compassion for others and sense of humor brightened the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. With a twinkle in his eye and a quick wit, his storytelling and jokes were legendary. Bill’s
children inherited his love for laughter and his zest for life. And his granddaughter, Sammi Jo, whom he lovingly cared for in his home for 30 years, always brought a smile to his face and joy to his heart.

Bill is survived by his wife Mary Catherine “Kathy” (Moneymaker) Hess and his granddaughter Samantha Hess, of the home. In addition, he is survived by daughters Shirley Moore and husband Jamie of Wagoner, OK, Jill Rader and husband Garry of Claremore, OK, Connie Roberts and husband Greg of
Talala, OK, Jessica Wallace of Springfield, MO, son John Wallace and wife Liz of Wyandotte, OK, and his brother Dick Hess and wife Janice of Broken Arrow, OK, as well as his precious grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Billy Joe Hess, his sisters Verda Helen Mallory, Velma Jo Shelton, Dorothy Elizabeth Duncan, Donna Sue Neely, Marjorie Faye Metcalf, and Loretta Hess, and brothers Robert Neil Hess, Leon Dean Hess, and Harvey Leo Hess.

In his professional life, Bill had a successful career as a builder. He possessed exceptional skills and was highly regarded in his field. He also answered the higher calling as a Minister and pastored many
Nazarene Churches in Oklahoma, sharing his faith and guiding others on their spiritual journeys.
Bill found solace and community at Banner Church of the Nazarene in Anderson, MO, where he
worshipped. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he found comfort and strength in his religious
beliefs.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, Missouri.

  1. His stepson and step daughter are trash. Miss Jessica is a abomination to the word of God. I feel sorry for this man to have horrible step kids. John is a woman beating jerk who mistreats people.
