Gary Wilson

Gary Dean Wilson was born on Feb. 21, 1943, in Neosho, Missouri, one of six children to Bardean and Ruby (Barnes) Wilson. He entered into rest at his home in Neosho on January 20, 2024, at the age of 80. 

Gary was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Neosho High School, class of 1962. Gary worked as jet engine mechanic for Teledyne and Saberliner, was a cattle farmer and truckdriver. 








He was a collector of clocks and also did repairs of clocks, enjoyed going to antique car shows. He was a member of the Newton County Historical Society and Bethany Baptist Church. 

On May 29, 1967, in Miami, Oklahoma, Gary and Phyllis Marie Pogue were united in marriage and she preceded him in death on November 4, 2015. 

Gary is survived by his three children, Brian Wilson and wife, Tara, Kimberly Smith and husband, Jim, and Misty Divine and husband, Allen, all of Neosho; grandchildren, Bailey Ward and husband, Zach, Taylor Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Austin Graham and wife, Whitney, Ty Smith and wife, Sidney, Zack Graham and wife, Macie, Kaylynn Smith and fiancĂ©, James Vaughn, Trysten Graham and fiancĂ©, Amy Silvers, Hope Harris, Aubry Harris, Brylee Wilson and Taylor Divine; great grandchildren, Ava Brenneman, Conner Graham, Dawson Graham, Natalee Graham, Paisley Graham, Ariya Ward, Ella Ward, Grayson Smith, Kaeson Wilson and Garrett Graham and five siblings, James Arthur Wilson, Van Earl Wilson and wife, Janie, Johnnie Lee Wilson, Gregory Gene Wilson and wife, Brigitte, all of Neosho and Deborah Ann Wheeler, Anderson, Missouri. 








In addition to his wife, Phyllis, he is preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25th, at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Melvin Stapp will officiate. Interment will follow in the New Salem Cemetery and those serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Wilson, Trysten Graham, Zack Graham, Ty Smith, Zach Ward and Aubry Harris. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening at the funeral home, from 5 pm to 7 pm.
