Marlene Beezley

Marlene Joyce Beezley, age 86, of Oronogo, MO, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at her home.

Marlene was born on January 17, 1938, in Chicago, IL, to the late union of Thomas and Marie (Pucel) Marn. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, going to their sporting events, dances, and school concerts. She enjoyed spending her mornings with her favorite coffee buddy, Lucky, as he herded and protected her from those rascally squirrels. 








She enjoyed playing bingo at the VFW and American Legion, planting flowers in her garden, quilting and crocheting, going to Mo-Kan Dragway, and flea market shopping.

Marlene married Clarence “Glenn” Beezley, Jr., on August 11, 1957, and to that union four children were born, son, Tim Beezley and wife, Mary, of Loma Linda, daughter, Melodie Crossley and husband, Vincent, of Oronogo, daughter, Sharon Lamb and husband, Rickey, of Joplin, and daughter, Melissa Allen and husband, Jay, of Joplin. She leaves behind one sister, Diane Pope and husband, Pete, of Excelsior Springs, MO, and 8 grandchildren – Robert Beezley and wife, Ashley, Amanda Nation and husband, Austin, Christopher Lamb, Blake Lamb and wife, Icesus, Timmy Aaron Beezley and wife, Abbey, Dustin Beezley and fiancĂ©e, Kristen, and Tori and Dylan Allen. Additionally, she leaves behind 14 great grandchildren – Cole, Allyssa, Aubri Lou, Magnolia Beth, Tyler, Rylee, Kaylee, Braxton, Sylus, Arlow Mary Marlene, Zaylei, Caroline, Anna and Oliver. Extended family members include Valerie Wilson, Dee Wilson, and Guy Wilson.

In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; five siblings and friend, Toney Bresee, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary Chapel from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jean Criddle officiating. Interment to follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Beezley, Timmy Aaron Beezley, Austin Nation, Dustin Beezley, Colt Gunnett, and Blake Lamb serving as pallbearers.








The family would like to extend its sincere thanks to Dr. Gregory “GG” Nanney and the staff at the Mercy Cancer Center as well as Phoenix Home Care & Hospice.

Memorial contributions are requested to the Cancer Society of America and the Shelly Sachs Foundation.

Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
