Timmy Rickey

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

Timmy Glen Rickey, a cherished husband, father, papa, son, brother, and friend, was born on September 21, 1951, in Joplin, Missouri. He made his life's journey with unwavering faith, courage, and an enduring love for his family and friends. His life was a testament to the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."

Timmy, lovingly remembered as Tim, married his sweetheart, Mary Kay, on March 28, 1969. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared memories. Timmy was a dedicated and skilled welder until his retirement in 2011.

In his golden years, Timmy enjoyed simple pleasures. His love for old cowboy movies, fishing, NASCAR, and playing poker brought joy to his life and those around him. To his family, he was an epitome of selfless love, generosity, and faithfulness. He left an indelible mark on the hearts of his wife, Mary Kay, his children, Glenda Madison, Melissa Tyler, Kimberly Rickey, Brandi Turner, Eric Rickey, and Deloma Rickey, his 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.

Timmy's life was a celebration of love, service, and faith. His spirit, a beacon of kindness and love, will continue to guide and inspire us.

As we remember Timmy, we are comforted by the words of Helen Keller, “What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” Tim's memory will remain alive in the stories retold, laughter shared, and the love he gave so freely.

A graveside service to celebrate Timmy's life will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home. The family encourages relatives and friends to visit www.simpsonfh.com to share photos and memories of Timmy. We invite you to join us in remembering Timmy, to celebrate his life, and to share the stories that make us smile.
