Peggy Reed

Peggy Pauline Reed, age 94 of Neosho, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Cox Hospital in Monett, Missouri.

She was born September 6, 1929 in Pioneer, Missouri, the daughter of Davidson Grey and Lela (Jones) McMillen. 

On March 3, 1951 she was united in marriage to Houston “Buck” Reed, who preceded her in death on September 11, 2005. They celebrated 53 wonderful years together as husband and wife. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Jim McMillen and one sister, Katherine Adams.

 

Peggy is survived by one stepson, Fred Reed of Minnesota; one sister, Joe Ann Jump of Exeter, Missouri; two grandchildren; several great grandchildren. She also had many nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.

Peggy grew up and attended school in Wheaton, Missouri graduating from Wheaton High School. She enjoyed spending time outside taking care of her beautiful flowers and inside cooking wonderful meals for her family. Peggy loved spending time crocheting, sewing, and quilting many beautiful things for family and friends. She was a homemaker and truly loved helping others.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Brother Tony Ball will conduct the services. Burial will be at Dice Cemetery in Fairview, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
