Mary Holland

Mary Catherine (Tracy) Holland passed into her eternal rest on January 24, 2024.

Mary was born May 21, 1931, to Wesley Harmon and Velma Margaret (Cornell) Tracy in Columbus, Kansas. Her family moved to Carl Junction, Missouri, where she graduated in 1949. Mary was united in marriage to Wayne Holland on June 17,1950. She and Wayne made their home in Joplin, Missouri.







Mary was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother John Tracy, son Glenn Wayne Holland, daughter Dorothy Leeanna Vaughan, and granddaughter Amy Christine Holland.

She is survived by her daughter Virginia Gail Smith and husband Richard, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary spent her life raising her children and supporting them by being involved with the Scouting programs as a Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. She used her skills with her hands to sew, craft, and create for her home, the Scouts, and VBS. She and Wayne spent many years traveling and camping together. They celebrated 63 of marriage before his death in 2013.








The family would like to thank the many loving, caring hands that took care of her as her health failed. There are too many people to personally mention, but the Lord knows each by name and we pray a blessing on each one.

Graveside services are planned for Monday, January 29, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Osborne Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
