Leroy Tiberghien

Leroy W. Tiberghien Jr., (81), of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on January 12, 2024. Leroy (Lee/Skip), was born to Leroy Sr. and Marjorie Rose (Cooper) Tiberghien, on June 22, 1942, in Joplin, Missouri.

Lee was a graduate of Webb City High School and Pittsburg State University. After graduating, Lee started his career as a high school teacher, eventually becoming a community college speech and forensics instructor/ coach. 

In his free time, he enjoyed reading his devotional portals, watching game shows, chocolate shakes from Braum's, and doting on his beloved dog, Dolly.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Marjorie (Cooper) Tiberghien, his brother William (Danny) Tiberghien and his sister Joyce Tiberghien. 

Lee is survived by his three children, Barbara Circle of Springfield, Mo., Benjamin (Crystal) Tiberghien of Webb City, Mo., and Mischa (Erin) Idzerda of Sartell Mn. He is also survived by his, grandchildren Seth Scott, Ethan Scott, Jarin Bennit, Keiran Idzerda, Claire Idzerda and Elliot Idzerda, great-grandchildren Avery Scott and Vladimir Scott, cousin Mischa Johnson, aunt Maribelle Ash along with his nephews Daniel and David Tiberghien, niece Becky Vandergrift and his dog Dolly.

Lee's family will host a funeral service this spring, details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of: Barbara Circle 1380 S Normandy Ave Republic, MO 65738.
