Larry McKee

Larry Charles McKee, age 80 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 following an extended illness. Larry was born on July 8, 1943 in Joplin to the late Larry and Frances (Bottorff) McKee.

After graduating high school, Larry went on to receive his bachelors degree and then enlisted into the U.S. Army where he served his country in Thailand. 

After honorably released, Larry went on to receive his Master’s Degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He worked for several years with Zales Corporation before eventually owning and operating a business selling emergency service goods and equipment.

Larry married his best friend, Ginger Leigh Crane on September 30, 2023 after several years together, she survives of the home in Joplin.

Additional survivors include a son, Brandon McKee and wife, Danara of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Katy McKee-Warren and husband, Timothy of Frisco; step sons, Dustin Shipman of Neosho and Andrew Wallace and wife, Dana of Raleigh, North Carolina; step daughter, Jill DeHardt and husband, Jay of Kansas City, Missouri; 8 grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
