Mary Ann Myers

On January 16, 2024, Mary Ann Myers was accompanied by angels to a higher place, out of gaze, where she spreads her wings in God’s Kingdom. 

Mary Ann, as she was affectionately known, was born in Hayward, California on October 11, 1940. She was born as an only child into a military family to her parents, Mary and Charles Ward, during World War II. 

As a military family during this time, they were stationed at Pearl Harbor in December of 1941. Mary Ann, in the arms of her mother, was on the Naval Base when the attack on Pearl Harbor happened. Her father, however, was not with them. He was away on a minesweeper ship near Samoan Islands at the time of the attack. Mary Ann had shared many memories of her earliest days during these times with her family. One of the most vivid memories she shared was of her being carried by her mother while she covered windows to block out any light. She even recalled what it was like during evacuation to San Francisco.

God’s purpose for Mary Ann was discernible through her days on Earth. She had a natural gift for a various number of talents, dreams, and passions. She was a good lyricist and an excellent performer, the perfect duo for a singer/songwriter. She created extraordinary poems, her very own works of true art. She enjoyed cooking gourmet meals crafted to deliver exquisite taste. She even had an artistic ability to develop aesthetically pleasing designs as an interior designer. 

With so many talents and dreams at hand, her most rejoicing passion was being a loving mother. Mary Ann was a devoted mother of 9 children, 6 baby roses and 3 baby angels. She dedicated her whole life to raising her children from the first born to the youngest. Her life was anchored in her family.

God himself called Mary Ann home to Heaven to unite with her parents and her grandson, Emmanuel. 

She remains in spirit with her 6 children; Mike, Karen, Laura, Jenny, DelChaun, and Rebecca; of which blessed her with 18 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Mary Ann’s legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of those fortunate
enough to have known her. Her kindness, integrity, and devotion to her family will be
forever cherished.

The family plans to hold a memorial in the coming weeks to honor Mary Ann’s memory.
