Betty June Turner of Quapaw, OK passed from this life Friday, January 19, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was 79.

Betty was born July 23, 1944 in Anderson, MO to Joel Cecil and Effie May (Proctor) Mahurin. She had lived in the Picher and Quapaw, OK area most of her life. She was a 1962 graduate of Quapaw High School. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee Turner on March 30, 2017, her parents and 1 sister, Brenda Joyce Bench.

Betty is survived by 4 sons, Terry Lee Turner and his wife Brenda of Quapaw, OK, Richard Dale Turner of Quapaw, OK, Howard Wayne Turner and his wife Kristy of Joplin, MO and Steven Ray Turner and his wife Tammie of Miami, OK, 1 daughter, Lorrie Ann Turner of the home, 2 brothers, Harold Cecil Mahurin of Quapaw, OK and Darrel Lavern Mahurin of North Miami, OK, 3 sisters, Louise Fry of Afton, OK, Delta May Whited of Peoria, OK and Linda Sue Mahurin of Quapaw, OK, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK with Rev. Ray Clonts officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, southwest of Columbus, KS. Richard Dale Turner, Steven Ray Turner, Josh Turner, Hunter Turner, Justus Turner, Wyatt Turner and Mason Turner will serve as pallbearers.
