(From Ferry Funeral Home)Sharon Kay Gardner, age 66, Nevada, MO, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada.
Sharon was born July 9, 1957 in Chillicothe, MO to Jack and Marilyn (Jennings) McWilliams. Following high school, she married Richard Gardner, Jr. on November 4, 1979, at Milo Baptist Church and he survives of the home.
Sharon grew up in Chillicothe and came to Milo, MO, in 1982. Throughout her life she worked at various jobs including Nellie Don, Jr. House, Walmart, and at Skills Unlimited until she retired due to her health. She enjoyed fishing, Super Mario Brothers, and spending time with family and friends. Sharon was raised in the Christian faith.
In addition to her husband, Richard, of the home; survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Gardner, Webb City, MO and Tonya Nichols, Chillicothe, MO; one sister, Becky (Bill) Smith, Chillicothe, MO; two brothers, Daniel (Marla) McWilliams, Texas, and Bill McWilliams, Pleasanton, KS; several step sisters; nine grandchildren, Tiffany Gardner (Madison), Joplin, MO, Diana (Caleb) Mooney, Joplin, MO, Emma Gardner, Webb City, MO, Anna Newsome, Chillicothe, MO, Jackson Carnes, Chillicothe, MO, Zachary Harper, Chillicothe, MO, Sean Stafford, Nevada, MO, Brooklyn Stafford, Massachusetts and Lucas, Massachusetts; three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Marilyn Nichols, a son Jason Gardner in 2010, and two brothers, Jack McWilliams and Robby Nichols.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, MO. Private interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 1:30 -2:30 prior to the service at the funeral home.
