(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Dixie Lou Small, of Lockwood, MO, departed this life on Thursday, January 25, 2024, in the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility at the age of 90.
She was born on October 4, 1933 in South Greenfield, MO to Richard and Thelma (Bush) Marshall. Dixie graduated from Greenfield High School.
She was united in marriage to Willard Henry Small on November 21, 1954 at the Baptist Church in South Greenfield.
Dixie owned and operated a Daycare for children for many years. She loved to collect that would include automobile memorabilia, Beanie Babies, and Barbie Dolls.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Richard and Thelma Marshall; her husband, Willard Small; and her brother, Larry Marshall.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathy (Small) Cook and husband Greg of Elwood, MO; her son, Leslie Small of Aldrich, MO; two grandchildren, Crystal (Cook) Rhodes and husband Andy of Neosho, MO and Chris Muse of Columbia, MO; and four great-grandchildren, Henry Rhodes, Ezra Rhodes, Lena Muse, and Skylar Muse; one brother, Jerry Marshall of Pennsboro, MO. Also surviving include Andy’s family, David and Julie Rhodes of Willard, MO for the love and support to the family, and sister-in-law, Judy Marshall of Greenfield, MO.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Pennsboro Cemetery with Pastor Scott Houston officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Greenfield Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
